Healing Hearts Counseling is a private practice in Murray, Utah. Couples come to us from across Salt Lake County for in-person sessions, and from every part of the state by secure video. We are licensed throughout Utah, so you can meet with us from Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, Logan, St. George or anywhere in between.
Marriage counseling and couples therapy are the same kind of work. We see married couples, engaged couples, dating partners and long-term partners, in every kind of relationship.
How our approach works
Our team specializes in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based approach to couples therapy. Instead of handing you a list of communication tips, EFT looks at the pattern that keeps repeating between you, such as the argument that circles or the distance that slowly grows, and helps each partner understand what is underneath it. The goal is to repair connection, not to win the argument.
Dr. Mallorie Sorce, our founder, is a certified EFT therapist. She spent five years at the EFT Clinic in Utah before opening Healing Hearts Counseling.

Marriage counseling questions
Is marriage counseling covered by insurance?
We are a private pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. We accept HSA and FSA cards and provide a monthly superbill you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your plan, so ask your insurer what it covers.
How much does marriage counseling cost?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Rates are listed on each therapist's page and range from $100 to $200 per session depending on the therapist. The first step is a free 20-minute consultation.
Can we do marriage counseling online?
Yes. Telehealth sessions work for couples anywhere in Utah, and any session can move between in person and video without changing therapists.
Do we both have to attend?
Couples therapy works best when both partners attend. If your partner is not ready yet, you are welcome to start with an individual session to talk through what you want.
Are you LGBTQ+ affirming?
