Hi, I’m Carissa. As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern (CMHCI), I am dedicated to helping clients reconnect with their inner strength and sense of self. My goal is to create a warm, inclusive, and supportive space where healing can take root and where clients feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges with authenticity and self-compassion.

In my work, I support individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I am especially passionate about helping clients attune to themselves, learning to listen to their own needs, honor their emotional experiences, and move toward greater self-awareness and empowerment.

I have a particular interest in working with LGBTQIA+ clients, individuals navigating faith transitions, and those healing from sexual trauma and shame. These experiences can feel deeply isolating, but I believe healing happens through compassionate connection and the reclamation of personal truth and identity.

Currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University, I bring a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to therapy. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness practices, and strengths-based interventions, and I work under the supervision of experienced and licensed Mallorie Sorce, LMFT.

Above all, I approach this work with humility, curiosity, and a deep respect for the resilience of the human spirit.
