Supervised by Dr. Mallorie Sorce

Hello, my name is Donyel. I’m a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern completing my graduate training at National University, where I also earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology. My passion for this work comes from a deep belief in helping people reconnect with their voice, their strength, and their sense of self. I’ve seen how meaningful it can be to have someone beside you, someone who honors your story, advocates for your healing, and walks with you as you grow.

I approach therapy through a compassionate, relational, and trauma‑informed lens. I support individuals, diverse relationships, and families as they explore the experiences, wounds, identities, and relationships that shape their lives. This perspective has guided me toward specialized training in mindfulness, attachment‑based work, trauma recovery, sex therapy, relationship diversity, and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care.

In my personal life, I’m happiest when I’m with my partner of 25 years, surrounded by our family and furbabies, or laughing with friends during game nights. I’m an avid reader of relationship focused and sexuality positive literature, and I love bringing creativity, open curiosity, and compassion into both my family life and my work with clients.
